The Spatial Dimension of Climate Adaptation – Assessment of spatial sensitivity of European national climate adaptation policy planning, monitoring and evaluation activities [before doctoral defense]

The research focuses on European climate adaptation policies and aims to contribute to improving their effectiveness. It examined the extent to which these policies are capable of taking into account and responding to geographical spatial characteristics and differences in the context of climate adaptation. In the dissertation, we refer to this capacity as the “spatial sensitivity” of climate adaptation policies, introducing it as a new scientific concept. The dissertation examines the spatial sensitivity of climate adaptation policies in European countries through a comparative study that analyses national-level policy instruments (planning, monitoring, and evaluation documents and activities).
